Pat Hardesty retires as Taylor County Extension Agent

Pat Hardesty retired on March 31 after 40 years as Taylor County Extension Agent for Agriculture and Natural Resources. 
Residents of Taylor County came together to honor Hardesty, and he was presented several awards and received a standing ovation during a special recognition ceremony.
Taylor County Cattlemen’s Association president John Wayne Kessler presented Pat with a painting by Randy Durham. Judge Executive Barry Smith proclaimed March 26 as “Pat Hardesty Day” in honor of his work and dedication to the community over the last 40 years.
Hardesty also received recognition during the 2025 session of the Kentucky General Assembly on behalf of Sen. Max Wise and Rep. Michael “Sarge” Pollock.
